I’ve often heard stories of the importance of a greeting and hand shake. Or, do you skip the hand shake to instead use a high five, or fist bump. President Obama is one who has helped spread the popularity of the fits bump, according to a CBS article. I prefer the traditional handshake, a sign of respect and formal greeting. It really is a science: not to light, less you seem weak; not to hard, less you seam arrogant. Have you shaken the hand of Mr. Frank Fargo – Your Eastern Panhandle of WV Insurance Agent? I have many times. He has a firm hand shake, but is sure to adjust his grip depending on whose hand he is shaking. How about eye contact? Do you ever take the time to see if the other person is going to look you in the eyes. I make it a point when greeting someone to shake their hand firmly, and make eye contact. I am constantly amazed at how many people look down, away, to the left or right – anywhere but into my eyes. So if you take nothing else from this article, keep in mind that when shaking the hand of your WV Insurance agent, keep it firm, and maintain eye contact. It will go a long way!
